Bingjie Zheng is a doctoral student in the program of second language acquisition at UW-Madison. Her research interests include linguistic anthropology and classroom discourse analysis. She is interested in exploring students' communicative repertoires by using various linguistic and semiotic resources for meaning-making and negotiation. Bingjie is currently a research assistant at WIDA and develops language pathways for discuss using systemic functional linguistics to support English language learners. Bingjie received her B.A. in English language and linguistics in Shanghai International Studies University and City University of Hong Kong in China. After working as an EFL instructor in Shanghai for several years, she moved to Philadelphia in 2013 and received M.S.Ed in TESOL from the University of Pennsylvania.
